Rabbi David Debow, Director

infuses his classes with relevance and creativity. He served as teacher, Miashgiach Ruchani and Principal of Fuchs Mizrachi High School in Cleveland. Since making Aliya, has taught in Midreshet Harovah, Midreshet Lindenbaum, Michlelet Orot, Graduate of Yeshivat Har Etzion and graduate of Yeshiva University and Ursuline College.

Dr. Yocheved Debow, Academic Principal

holds a BA in Psychology and Education, and an MA in Child Clinical and Educational Psychology. She received her doctorate in Education at Bar Ilan University as a presidential fellow. She studied Limmudei Kodesh at Michlalah, Jerusalem College for Women.


Our teachers are all chosen because they are experts in their fields and share a sensitivity to Torah values and creative expression.

Karen Goldscheider Karen Goldscheider received her BA in Biopsychology from Barnard College and her MA in Tanakh from Yeshiva University. She taught Tanakh and Machshevet Yisrael and worked in the Israel Guidance and Religious Guidance departments, as well as serving as a Grade Level Coordinator at SAR High School in New York for ten years. She studied for a number of years in post Masters study at Matan in Yerushalyim. Since moving to Israel she has taught in a number of seminaries as well as working in curriculum development and as an Educational Evaluator. She currently lives in Jerusalem with her family.

Fran Miller Fran Miller is a graduate of the Keren Ariel Yoatzot Halacha program at Nishmat, and studied in the advanced Talmud programs in Matan and Migdal Oz. She holds a B.A. in Judaic Studies from Stern College and B.Ed. from Yeshivat Har Etzion’s Michlelet Herzog Teacher’s College. She teaches Torah She-be'al Peh at Emunah V'Omanut and Midreshet Torah V'Avodah. Fran lives in Jerusalem with her husband and three children

Rabbi Yacov Don On 7 Kislev 5776 our beloved teacher Rav Yacov Don ob”m was cruelly murdered by terrorist. He was on staff at the time of his murder. His impact on scores of students was attested to by an outpouring of emotion and reminiscence. He remains a shining example of a loving teacher, completely dedicated to his students. May his memory remain as a blessing for all of us.


Dalia Goldstein Dalya Goldstein attended Michlala before returning to her hometown of Manchester, UK for university. She practiced as a lawyer for a number of years before making aliya in 2015. Dalya now shares her passion for Tanach, and particularly the characters in the Torah, teaching and leading students in discussions about the relevancy of Torah episodes to their own lives. Dalya lives in Jerusalem with her husband and children.

Shira Zimmerman Rabbanit Shira Zimmerman is the Rosh Beit Midrash at Midreshet Emunah V’Omanut and a halacha teacher at Midreshet Lindenbaum. She is a graduate of the Susi Bradfield Women’s Institute for Halakhic Leadership at Midreshet Lindenbaum and the Matan Institute for Advanced Talmudic Learning. Rabbanit Shira also holds a BA in Talmud and Tanakh from Bar Ilan. She has spent many years giving shiurim in gemara, halacha, and tanach to seminary students and in her community in Gush Etzion.

Rabbi Aba Wagensberg Rabbi Aba Wagensberg, a close Talmid of Harav HaGaon Rav Chaim Pinchas Sheinberg, ZT”L, received his rabbinical ordination from HaRav Yitzchak Kolitz, ZT”L, former Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem. Rabbi Wagensberg serves as the Rabbi Emeritus of the Etz Chaim Center Synagogue of Center City, Philadelphia. Currently, Rabbi Wagensberg is a sought-after lecturer in a variety of institutions in Israel and abroad. His exuberant nature makes his classes exciting and popular. Rabbi Wagensberg is the author of Inspiring Change (about self growth) and A Shot of Torah (a collection of shorter divrei Torah on the Parsha and holidays), as well as weekly Torah articles sent out via email to thousands of people. He has created a Torah audio and video library. He can also be heard weekly on the Lakewood radio station, Kol Berama 107.9 FM.

The Arts Faculty


Jeffrey Allon studied in the Professional Program, Advanced Studies in Painting and Drawing at Studio Incamminati for over three years. He also earned his BA in fine arts from Hampshire College, and received a Certificate of Art in Advanced Printmaking and Book Arts from the Croydon College of Art and Design in England. In addition to teaching painting and drawing, Jeff works as a professional artist from his studio in Tekoa, south of Jerusalem. See Art

Andi Arnovitz is a master printmaker, Arnovitz has expanded her artistic lexicon to include multiple media, frequently synthesizing an expansive range of techniques in order to treat controversial topics of religious, political and social nature. Arnovitz has exhibited in solo and group shows internationally, in the U.S., Israel, Spain, Poland, France, Lithuania, Canada, and Bulgaria. Her work is found in museum and private collections internationally. See Art

Ms. Eva Avidar did a BFA at the Bezaalel Academy of Art and Design followed by a MA from the Royal College of Art, in London, UK.  She then became the Artist in residence at Clay Studio of Philadelphia. She participated in many group and solo exhibitions and is world-renowned. She won the Oriana Prize for Fine Art and The Young Artists Award, Rotchild Fund among other honors.  She currently runs the fine arts program at Emunah College of the Arts for Women. See Art

Mrs. Gayle Berman holds a Masters of Music in vocal performance and Choral Conducting. She served on the music faculties of several universities in the U.S. She was Founding Director of the Jewish Women's Chorus of Western Massachusetts. She is also the Music Director for Raise Your Spirits, an all women theatre troup here in Israel.

Alona Cole studied music at the Liceo Conservatory, Barcelona Spain, and continued classic studies at the Reuben Academy, Jerusalem.  A versatile vocal stylist who won a recording contract with Sony records during an eight-year sojourn in Spain, Alona is also 1 of 4 members in a woman's band called 'The Hot Mamas'

Batnadiv Hakarmi-Weinberg studied art at the New York Studio School, the Slade, the International School of Painting, Drawing and Sculpture, Italy, and the Jerusalem Studio School. She has exhibited in group shows in Israel and abroad.  In tandem with her artistic pursuits, Batnadiv has explored the influence of the Bible on Western culture in her academic studies. She holds an MA in Comparative Literature from the Hebrew University, where she was awarded the Rector's Prize and the Wolf Foundation Award. See Art

As per instrument choice, expert instructors offer individual lessons in piano, drums, flute, cello, violin, and guitar.

Integrative Studio is taught by various rotating artists proficient in their field such as calligraphy, paper cuts,

silk painting, animation, and screen-printing.
